Valid Excuses! ^__^

Being 7 weeks and 1 day preggy keeps me in a mixed of emotions. Happy, Grumpy, Excited, Frightful, Hungry, No appetite, Lazy before but more lazy now! hahaha.

I made a couple of emergency absences now because I was not feeling well. I did work from home coz I felt a bit under the weather and was totally not in the mood to get dress nor leave the bed.

I am having food cravings which was normal ofcourse! but no specific food cravings yet. Now I know that pregnant women are not "maarte or umaarte". We just have that special picky, very choosy habit of food, smell, etc.

More than a week ago, I craved for "lugaw or congee" at almost 1am. Our place is not that strategic in terms of street foods but there were 2 nearby fast food chains, Jollibee and Chowking. I was hopeful to get my hot congee from chowking only to find out that they were not 24x7 just like Jollibee that was 2 stalls away. With me on shorts, white T's and just a sweater with hoody and P200 in my wallet, suddenly felt heavens crashed upon me. Hubby saw how sad I was so he immediately hailed a cab and we drove to fort global city to look for another Chowking store that is still open.

Luckily the Chowking near Net3 is 24x7. Imagine how my eyes twinkled seeing them open. So I went to the counter and order but guess what....Congee was not available.....WTF??!!!
Hubby hugged me and told me that we will go to Ayala McKinley gas station coz there's Henlin there that serves congee too. So there! We hailed another taxi with hopeful hearst that get to find my precious congee. Hay!

While inside the cab, A asked the driver if he knows a place nearest where we can get "lugaw or goto". After learning why the search...tumawa si Manong Driver sabay sabi "Naku, ganun talaga! hehehe." Then I pinched A on his legs ang gave him a nasty look.

But true enough, saying "Naglilihi kasi itong kasama ko." was a very good and compelling reason to get easy help. So there, we went to Buting and there was this old fashioned Tapsilugan, Gotohan Store packed with Drivers, late night workers and students eating happily. Each taking a big scoop of rice from their respective plates. I got excited as this was how exactly I pictured myself getting my hot congee.

So we got the 2 chairs from the corner side as these were the only vacant seats left. A and I ordered for our congee with "tuwalya" and tokwa't baboy. The minute I swallowed my first spoonful of congee.....oh! I felt heaven! hahaha...Babaw noh?

To end the story, we left the store happy and super contented. Wallet Damage? Only less than P100 with drinks na yun. But then our total taxi fare was almost P300. Remember I only have P200 in my wallet? Buti na lang A was with me and paid for our taxi fare. hahaha...A just ended up scratching his head then kisses me goodnight. I tell you, I had a very very good sleep that night. hehehe.

And who made our breakfast daily? Not me but A....hahaha.
Being Lazy in the morning is another VALID excuse I can use.

And when I don't like my food or felt full already even with just a bite, A finishes it with open mouth.

Aaahhh....the advantages of expecting. ^__^

Until next post. I hope I won't be too lazy to write and update this blog. :P

All About the Bride Part 4: The Shoes

Obviously it's PINK!!! But before we get to the highlights, allow me to share what were my Shoe Inspirations are:

(Oh Butterflies!!!)

I've been searching and searching for the perfect pair of shoes but I decided to get it as a package from our couturier (Noe Reyes). He told me that he can get a partner-supplier who can imitate even designer shoes at a very affordable price. Well, the gullible me gave in and so I just looked on some shoe inspiration. Basically my criteria then was:

1. Simple
2. No Blings
3. Reusable for other occasion
4. Heels not high
5. Comfortable

So then, the search on magazines, malls, shops went on and on until I found this:

I though this will be PERFECT on my feet. And so I trusted Noe and his partner (Abbylyns). It actually went to 3 times of revisions. I lost my old phone with pictures of evidence how awful it went. But since I insisted and demanded that I will not wear them at all, they accommodated my request of changing it again (meaning back to square 1).....The end result:

(The Official Shot)

It didn't even get a bit close to the shoe inspiration design I provided them. But my concern during those time was...."if possible, do not entertain STRESS". Hmmm...come to think of it. I was actually not a grumpy nor a demanding bride pala noon. hahaha.

And I was able to use it again on my best friend's wedding.

Well all the criteria that I set were accomplished! So the verdict?

Remarks: Make sure you get realistic designs that they can imitate. The Material does matter A LOT!

First heard of this song in FB and I simply loved it!!!

1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4
Plain White T's

Give me more lovin' than I've ever had
Make it all better when I'm feelin' sad
Tell me that I'm special even when I know I'm not

Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Barely gettin' mad, I'm so glad I found you
I love bein' around you
You make it easy, it's as easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4

There's only one thing to do
Three words for you I love you
There's only one way to say
Those three words and that's what I'll do, I love you

Give me more lovin' from the very start
Piece me back together when I fall apart
Tell me things you never even tell your closest friends

Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Best that I've had, I'm so glad that I found you
I love bein' around you
You make it easy, it's as easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4

There's only one thing to do
Three words for you I love you
There's only one way to say
Those three words and that's what I'll do, I love you

All About the Bride Part 3: The Bridal Gown

The wedding gown tells the personality of the Bride. It is one of the most important thing for the bride. To be at her best on her wedding day wearing her perfect "IT" bridal gown.

Me? I did have my gown. Got my own designer and entrusted him to make my "IT" gown.
Just to be honest, (with myself and to those who will ever find time to read this blog entry) my bridal gown was a bit of disappointment for me. It didn't turn out the way I want it to be. :-(

I always wanted to wear a simple wedding gown. No too much accessories, beads, ruffles, etc...I just want design on the breast area and no bead work from waist downward. Something that should look similar to this:

And I did get one...yes I did! But not that super simple that I felt I was wearing just a cloth. Very minimal bead work that was so so far from what my designer and I agreed upon. So simple that I felt gowns found in divisoria are far more sophisticated or stylish than mine. :-(

*Sigh* I will not talk about it anymore. I will spare the details. I don’t want to recall the feeling it brought me nor talk trash about my designer. I am now settled. But I think it would have become a gown that I envisioned and dreamed of if my dress was only given enough focus, time and attention. In fairness, He actually did a good job for my bridesmaids, our flower girls, our mothers and to my groom. Unfortunately, he failed to deliver what is expected on the gown of the supposed to be star of the day. I will just have to give another deep “SIGH” on this.

I loved the cut, the length, the way it fits my body....but it went a bit wrong on the finishing touch. The breast area is supposed to be fully beaded. But check it out, the beads were only found at the middle. The surrounding area was almost bare. :-(

See the style at the back...the cloth should be transparent like the cloth of the veil with sequence or small beads that should look like this:

But very far from what I want right? So I wasn't really comfortable about it that's why during reception, I just unzipped it and hide it inside that my back looked even better w/o that transparent cloth.

But luckily, I was able to pull the day and not allowed my gown mess our wedding day. Bottomline, I was still a pretty, happy bride. ^__^

pretty

happy....ME!

All About the Bride Part 2: Trinkets, Wedding Custom

"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue"

This was a very old tradition that many brides follow. Even me! Hehehe.
And just to share, here is some trivia about this wedding custom:

The complete phrase is:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue

And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies. So this wedding tradition is definitely English, and many sources say that it began in the Victorian era.

Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy. "Something old" symbolizes continuity with the bride's family and the past. "Something new" means optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead. "Something borrowed" is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item also reminds the bride that she can depend on her friends and family.

As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."

And finally, a silver sixpence in the bride's shoe represents wealth and financial security. It may date back to a Scottish custom of a groom putting a silver coin under his foot for good luck. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be in the left shoe. These days, a dime or a copper penny is sometimes substituted, and many companies sell keepsake sixpences for weddings.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, What did I have for Something Old?

>>> I wore my old trusted and sexy bra. hehehe. This was not planned though. Because the supposedly built-in pads did not look good on my gown so we have to find another option. Good thing though, I brought extra undergarments as I always used to whenever i'm spending more than a night or two outside our home. See that protruding cleavage, it's because of the B thing! :P

What did I have for Something New?

>>> Well....many!!! Majority of things I wore obviously were all NEW! :P One of my ever favorite was ofcourse another butterfly!!!! My butterfly bangle. I've been really looking for a nice bangle as my accessory for the wedding. I don't want a necklace, nor a dangling earring. I just want my look to be the simplest as possible. But as the bangle/bracelet person that I am, ofcourse, I should have to and need to have one. And it must not be just any bangle but a really "IT" bangle. So I searched and searched for a trendy, elegant and so-it's-me-bangle since Q1 or Q2 of 2009. But nothing I found that matches my taste. And as the wedding comes nearer and nearer, I kinda convince myself to just settle for what was available that was closest to my taste. Can you feel my disappointment during that time? hehehe. But I think, God really loves me because, as I walked to another stall in Trinoma, the Pop Culture section at the 2nd level named "Girl Shoppe" (i guess), and there!!! I finally found it! It was a beautiful butterfly bangle waiting for me at the shelf. Hehehe. It felt like I won a lottery when I found it. (exage!!! hahaha)

What did i have for Something Borrowed?

>>> A diamond earring from my Office mate turned God Mother, Monette! (Thanks Mother!!! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!) Oh yes! She was so generous enough to lend me one of her diamond earrings. She even got them out of the deposit vault from the bank. So, aren't they simply gorgeous? And I'm sure even without so much bling and glitzy beads on my gown, I'm sure apart from eyes, I twinkled and sparkled with those earrings on me. :P

What did i have for Something Blue?

>>> Another undergarment! Hahaha. Ofcourse! I just can't wear any Blue that was visible by sight! Why? Obviously, our motif was Fuchsia Pink and Mocha Brown. How on earth will Blue fit those colors. Simply out of tune right? So, just to follow that wedding custom, I simply had another undergarment of shade of blue. :P (well well well, I am not that eccentric to post a picture of that actual undergarment here. NO WAY!)

All about the Bride Part 1: The HeadDress

As promised, i will be sharing with you bits and pieces of what has transpired on the 19th day of Dec, 2009. How we dressed, our suppliers, how things went, how we felt, People who joined and celebrated with us, etc. So let's start with the Bride, ahem! Ofcourse that's me! ^__^ hehehe. I am the main author of this blog, so it will be much easier for me to write and tell stories.(Hihihi, palusot! Later na yung entry mo honeyko!)

Ok. As for my HeadDress, I got three. Why Three? Because...i used

1. Hair Vine
2. Hair Pins, and ofcourse
3. The Veil! :P

Allow me to discribe each of them:

1. Hair Vine: This was included from my wedding gown package c/o Noe Reyes. Originally, I do not want to use it for I would like my hair pins to be more visible on my hair. However, since my stylist, Lito Punzalan, insisted to put it on so we can make use of it (sayang nga naman if hindi magagamit) so there! It was placed on my head and it looked nice actually! :P
Thanks Lito!

2. Hair Pins: Oh I so loved them. Got them from Wedding Library at SM North, Edsa. People who are close to me will re-affirm that I am a butterfly fanatic. I so love butterfly so obviously, my attire will never ever be complete without one.

3. Veil: Included in my wedding gown package c/o Noe Reyes. At first, the agreement with Noe was

a. longer than my trail = CHECKED.
b. with butterfly and flower design that should look similar like this: an inspiration i got from my ex-officemate Julie! Her mother-in-law did her bridal gown. In fact I even considered here mom-in-law to do my gown too but I ended up with Noe Reyes because her mom lives in Antipolo which obviously will not be very practical for us who lives in Caloocan and Valenzuela respectively.

~*this was not my veil*~

But going back to my supposedly-veil-style, it never happened. Why? Maybe because I was brain washed that my veil will be much easier to carry if I walked down the aisle with my veil as it is. Just the cloth. Simple yet elegant. My designer, Noe, said the accessorized veil might pull my hair and or might adhere unto the church carpet so will make my once in a life time grand bridal march a disaster. Ok then. I bought that idea so I just had a plain, transparent, long veil. Bottomline, I liked it.

~*this was my veil*~
(Yes, it was long)

Hair wire + Hair Pins =
ACTUAL HAIR LOOK: This was how my hair looked on our wedding day.

Yes that was me....^_^

Rewind: Our Engagement Video

What: Adrian and Janice Prenup Video
When: June 20, 2009
Where: NLEX, Clark & Subic

It was a sunny day. We left Manila by 9am, together with our Photog, Richard Buan and Videographer, Jezreel Cruz. We're all set for that "Hitch" concept with some worries how we will do the shoot along the road wearing just carton boxes. Hahaha. You bet! We did that and was successful. We were so proud of our concept. Ofcourse every vehicle that passes by NLEX, slowed down a bit just to look at us. Maybe they were wondering if we were really models, doing some shooting or maybe just a couple of loonies that is up again with their crazy antics. hehehe.

A and I were proud of every bit of this activity. A day that we surely would like to remember 'til our hair turns gray. Sharing our video. Enjoy watching! ^__^

A Retrospect of a Blessed Day

Yeah I know, it's been a long hiatus. I haven't shared any photos, stories of what happened during our wedding. They're many!!! And before I forget about them, here's a baby step to reminisce that special moment in our lives.

Let me start by sharing the official photos taken by Richard Buan. For bigger sizes, our photos can be seen on this link.

BTW, today we celebrate our 2nd month as husband and wife. ^__^

We are now Online...

Finally!!! Our wireless internet router has arrived today. It took us less than 2 weeks to have this from the day of application up to router set up. It could have been shorter if the router delivered to us at first works fine but we found out that that unit was defective. So we waited for 2 more days for the replacement unit. Nonetheless, we are enjoying it now.

As promised, will share bits and pieces of what happened during our wedding and even before the wedding. Aarrrgh...seems they're too many but I will try to look back, reminisce as far as I can recall. Hehehe.

For now, updating this blog will do.

PBB na eh.

Ciao!!!

Back log

We have been married for 3 Weeks, and 5 Days to be exact.
So many things happened, events, holiday parties, new experiences, bonding moments with my husband (*ehem - ehem* Hihihi, it still brings me chills when I say husband and or asawa. Hahaha Hindi pa rin ako sanay *wink*), building our lovenest, etc, etc, etc. Sobrang dami!!!

I have lots of pics to post. Lots of kwentos to share and so excited to blog about this and that but was not able to post one. Our new lovenest doesn't have internet connection yet....so the enthusiasm to write disappears just like a balloon looses its air as days past. Plus the fact that most of the time, KATAM strikes over and over again kahit 2010 na! hehehe (Hmmmm.....baka B na ako??!!!....malamang hindi kasi dati na ako Tamad! Hahaha)

Nonetheless, i just wanted to put some of my blah blahs to update this blog while I wait for the official pictures from our wedding. Our photog said it will be released very soon. (so excited. Can't wait to see them!)
