We are officially ONE

Yes! I am married! We are!

As the title of this blog says, "Our Journey to become One".... i must say, we are now ONE as Man & Wife and the journey has just started. It is written in the scriptures too at Mark 10:6-8

Mark 10:6-12 (New International Version)

6"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female. 7'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.

It's a bliss. It's euphoric and it's haven. Though reality check, married life is a roller coaster ride. It's a fact that nothing is easy. But we will make sure that we will get and make things together as a couple. We will enjoy and hold-on together on each humps and bumps, each curves and loops, the high times and even in the lowness of all. We will stand side by side, supporting each other. That's the vow we made that even life after death, we hope will carry on.

Full blessing comes in marriage. And we will claim this promise. Because as the scripture says at Proverbs 18:22

Proverbs 18:22 (New International Version)

22 He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the LORD.

We entrust our married life to Jesus and will let him be the center of our lives.

The count down begins....

Time flies so fast!!!

Most countdowns begin at 10 and so I am starting it NOW!!!!

THUS, I am writing again! My ticker just told me It's 10 days to go! Weeeee!!!! I am starting to feel it. The excitement! The rush! The simply KILIG feeling! and ofcourse the STRESS!!!! Waaaaahhhhh!!! Can't be! I need to stay as calm as possible. *inhale-exhale....inhale-exhale*

One year preps doesn't seem enough!!! Aaaarrrggghhhh!
So many things to accomplish still. So many minor things that has to be ironed out! Hahaha!
Call that procrastination!!!

Those games in FACEBOOK really ate my time that should have been spent for arranging the seating arrangement, registrations, checklist, budget calculation update, etc!!! Call it SELF DISCIPLINE which I lack BIG TIME! ^__^

Ok! This won't do me no good. Just need to get a new entry for this blog. hehe

Time to do that "Invitation Tracker" again. ^__^

Teehee

Lovenest

We are obviously not going to live together with our parents. It's a clear decision between A and I from the very start. Obviously, we can not afford to get our own house yet. Not even considering a rent-to-own condo. We want the typical house. But that's on our future "to-do" and savings. Hihi. Whew!!! Getting hitch is really really a serious thing.

Nwei, At first, we had a hard time looking for an apartment. Why? Because we are following several criteria that should be met. What are they?

- Affordable: Not exceed 10K monthly rental
- Near Makati: To save, we need a place where we can have max of two short rides (min. fare of P7).
- 1 Bedroom apartment: Studio type is definitely out.
- floor area of at least 25 sqm
- highland: we dont want to experience another Ondoy rath. So a Big NO-NO to flood prone area.

Speaking of Ondoy, I noticed many condo bldgs and even aparment in Pasig, Cainta and even Q.C has slashed their rental price up to 50%. Imagine that. Sulit.com is flooded with advertisements about promo period of vacant units. But we dont want to take the risk. So we sticked with our criteria.

To be honest, A and I had several fighting moments about this. Hahaha. It was stressful. I was the one who was getting more pressure. Whew!!!!
Nonetheless, prayers really do work. We finally found our love nest!!! Yey!

Changing residence address very soon. Lots of profile update on my part.
We are going to live in C5 Taguig. 5 to 10 mins away from Market Market. Min. of 15 mins travel time to Ayala, Makati. If traffic is bad, it will take us 45mins max. Hmmmm...not bad compared to the travel time from Makati to Caloocan for me. And Makati to Valenzuela for Adrian. We are spending almost 2 hours travel time everyday. (one way only) Imagine that. And our pockets are really crying paying for taxi cab fare of 200 when LRT/MRT is already close at 11PM.

Here's a sneak preview of our love nest. Really bare. ^__^

Updates!!!

Wow! Time flies so fast....Seems like it's been ages since the last time I posted an entry. Well, it's 40 days to be exact. hehehe.

Ok. Many developments has happened. We booked our last batch of suppliers at Wedding Expo at PICC last Sept. 5.

Invitation Supplier: Booked, Down Payment made. We chose Impress Prints by Calliope Printing. The first time I learned about them was from a fellow W@W sister Hazel. Luckily, they were part of the wedding expo. Yes, they offer very reasonable rates. And they were very accommodating as well. To date, they are working on our layout now. It should be done this month so we can release them by Nov.

Ring Supplier: Because of the very good discount being offered, we decided to change supplier. Our first supplier was a good friend. No bad experience or what so ever. The compelling reason was just BUDGET....MONEY! MONEY! MONEY!. We just need to slash funds and save as much as we can. Ofcourse, in due respect, we informed our friend that we found a great deal and asked for her permission. She's very understanding and gave her blessings so that's it. We then signed with My Diamonds. How can you say no to a 50% discount??!!!!!
Happy us, Happy wallets!!! ^__^

Souvenirs: We decided to add tokens for the Ninangs. Another item to match the first one we bought. Ofcourse, it's from Eventi again.

What other activities we had?
  • Pamamahinkan = DONE!
  • Girls of Bridal entourage has taken their measurements
  • Adrian had his confirmation at Loreto Shrine in Sampaloc.
  • Adrian's Birthday celebration!!!! = fun! fun! fun!
  • Application for marriage license certificate and Family Planning seminar
  • A's mom has taken her measurement as well.
  • My Bridal gown first fitting = DONE!!! ^__^
  • Marriage License Certificate = DONE
The first one happened last Aug. 22.It was my Mom's birthday. We held it at Bagoong Club Resto in Q.C. The second one happened last Aug. 29. The 3rd happened last Sept 13. The 4th and 5th happened Sept. 18 which was so much fun! Hahaha. Hope the other seminars will be that fun too. While 6th and 7th happened last Sept. 26 when Ondoy has spread his angst in Metro Manila. :-(
I had my own share of story about Ondoy. Really really sad on what I witnessed on that day.
The last happened Sept. 28.

Here's to share some pics taken from our couturier's shop, Noe Reyes.

(My BF, Lady)

(My Cadz, Chinkey)

(My cousin, May)

(A's Tita, Tita Nora)

(My Niece, Tin)

The Girls!!! Girl's talaga lahat

Chinx, Me, Lady

I wish I had the time to "kwento" each detail that happened on each milestone we had for preps. For now, just to catch things up, i think this will do. Nakaka-addict kasi ang mga games sa facebook! hahaha! Yun ang reason why delayed ang mga posts. *wink*

Time to sleep! Zzzzzz in a while.

Blessed by an Angel's Hand: Our New Monogram

She's very famous in W@W community because of her craft. At first, I was just a viewer of her works. I share my vote everytime a b2b will ask for assistance on which one to choose. I must say she is very talented and must be really accommodating based on the number of favors from her.

So out of curiosity on how our monograms will look like if Fozzy will be the one to do it, I braved myself by dropping a message on her multiply site. And true enough, She is really accommodating. She answered immediately. Gave me instructions on where I can send her details, etc. So being the "Atat" person that I am despite of my busy schedule, I dropped another note, (this time an email) to give her details of our wedding.

To my surprise, our monogram was already available same day I asked the favor. Imagine that!!! Whew! I must say A and I were blessed. To quote her on what she said "na-inspire ako with what you described you guys to be. it's so refreshing from the others na super romantic. natuwa ako masyado hehehe."

My bad was not able to check on my email this past few days. Had I checked on it, will surely brag about it that instantly.

Nonetheless, Fozzy, dear a big big big BIG THANK YOU. You're our Angel. *wink*

This is what I will wear on the Big Day

Finally, I have it with me. Though this is NOT YET the final as in FINAL sketch.
But just like any other brides, I am so much excited to post it. Honestly, I have the first sketch since May. But then i felt that it was not really my dress. I read from the book "shopaholic ties the know" by Sophie Kinsella that "you will know...you'll just know" if a wedding dress is yours.
Seing the first sketch was sort of just "ok". The sketch was pretty. It has the elements of the gown inspirations i sent. But there were no jump-of-the-heart or what-so-weird-feelings that some brides normally can't explain when they share their story of their bridal gown.

(1st sketch: front view)
Our motif is Fuchsia Pink and Mocha Brown. I want my gown to be neat and simple. Skirt should be plain and not too heavy. Since the skirt of the gown is plain, i want the design to be on my veil. And since I love butterflies, my veil will be decorated with butterflies and little flowers to add drama.

(1st sketch: back view)
I want the back of the gown to be sexy but not so bare. There will be a transparent cloth on the back with some beads or embroidery as design.

3 weeks after, I bugged A. Told him that I'm not happy with my gown. It's not me. The halter thing is not my style. So we visited Mr. Noe Reyes (our courturier) just to vent out that He need to redo the sketch of my gown. Because i can't see my self on that dress. hehehe.

So the 2nd sketch was born. This time, I'm settled.

(2nd sketch: front view)
Since I was not comfortable with halter style of 1st sketch, the 2nd sketch has an asymetric strings with butterfly on the right shoulder. Hihihi. Ayaw ko ng butterfly noh? The veil will be the same. With butterflies and tiny flowers as design.

(2nd sketch: back view)
See the revision of the back? It will still be transparent skin-tone cloth with few beads and embroidered designs

But last month, we visited Noe again to let him know that we've decided to let him do the gowns of the female members of the entourage excluding the Ninangs. To our surprise, Noe handed me a revised sketch. It has a removable train that adds drama to my simple dress. My eyes instantly glittered. Hehehe. I was ecstatic. So that's the sign of "This is it."

So here's the 3rd sketch.

(3rd sketch: front view)
This i like more. SIMPLE.

(3rd sketch: back view)
This is the train Noe added. This will have the butterfly designs and some tiny flowers. The beads for the flowers will have a touch of colors of pinks to reflect our motif. Isn't it dramatic? Hehehe. Now this is really me. Hehehe.

Noe already got my measurements included A's last August 1. Have the sketches as well for the mothers, the secondary sponsors and the brides maids. Will post them in a separate entry.
Hay, I'm excited for my 1st fitting!!! Hihihi

Thanks a Bunch!!!

We are still ecstatic with all the compliments we received left and right and still increasing from both TEASER and TEASER NO MORE entries I made at WaW forum. Can't believe that was a big HIT. So let me say our bunch of thanks to all our friends for your very very heart warming comments. Our valiant act to do that "karton moments" a.k.a HITCH was all worth it.

And for easy reference, I collected them here.

Thanks again!!!

DIY: Monogram

Weeee!!! This was my very first attempt. Our Monogram!!!
Ofcourse it comprised of our initials J for Janice, A for Adrian and T for Tria. I decided to use just T instead of Tria because for me T seems to bring out more romance. Why? Because J and A is a perfect combination. We fit to a T. Nyahahaha! Sobrang cheesy!! Itulad daw ba sa kanta? *wink*

With regard to the colors I used it's Brown & Fuchsia Pink. Our wedding motif. Actually it should be mocha brown but it seems so pale, so I used Brown instead. I enclosed them with a circle, because round means "no ending". ^__^

Hmmm....Well, Tria is the new lastname I will take 5 months from now. Whew! I'm still getting chills thinking about it. Combination of "kilig" and "kaba". What I am certain about marriage life is that it wont be an easy ride. But we will take each turn, each hump and each slide, with a brave face, with a sweet smile and with a big heart because we will be together as "one".

*toinkz* It much be the rain. Hahaha.

Anyways, can you help me choose which one to use? :D

We were featured at Weddings at Work (W@W) ^__^

I still can't believe it. So overwhelmed by the fact that because of our "daring act" of prenup poses (hihihi) or should I say out of the norm concept of prenup theme, we gathered so many positive responses and reactions and to our very surprise was even featured at Weddings at Work (W@W) newsblog section. W@W is one of the most popular wedding forum/site that Filipino people especially bride/groom-to-be are part of. Ofcourse, I am part of it. So love W@W. Hehehe.

Kudos to h2b. He's the mastermind of this "Hitch-via Karton-moment" concept.
And a bunch of thanks to our photog, Richard Buan for delivering the pictures so well. A and I loved them all.

Here's the screen shot: Link Here.

I will share all the comments I gathered both from the Teaser shot and the Prenup Shots.

Top 10 beauty tips for brides

(i guess it's time for the h2b to contribute something about wedding stuffs... )

IN the past, as full-time beauty editor, I took on hair and makeup jobs on the side to supplement my magazine income. I worked on advertising shoots, music videos and weddings during my free time.

Weddings proved to be the most challenging of them all. I never knew what to expect. But at the same time, working the bridal circuit taught me many things, and the experience is currently helping me put together my own nuptials.

I caught up with two other makeup artist friends to exchange ideas on the dos and don’ts when it comes to one’s big day, and essentially gather tips on how to look one’s best (and most photogenic) on the event that took months to prepare.

Their answers were both hilarious and helpful. I am only too happy to share them with you.

10. “Do not sleep later than 12 midnight even if your wedding is after lunch,” says Barbi Chan, chief makeup artist at Maybelline New York, who has worked with more than 300 brides. “Trust me, it shows, [and] it’s so hard to conceal swollen and tired eyes!”

9. Steer clear of foundation that contains titanium dioxide (a common sunscreen ingredient), as it turns white in pictures. This only emphasizes the importance of making it to your trial makeup session and reviewing the photographs. On that note, “Do not be late or miss your appointment,” says Mayone Bakunawa, a former Estée Lauder guest makeup artist who has been doing makeup for five years now. “If you have to [cancel], inform way ahead of time [as a] courtesy to the makeup artist and her other clients.”

8. Avoid any medical or dermatological treatments like facials, waxing or threading at least a week before the wedding, and never ever the day before. “No amount of makeup can cover burnt skin or an infected pimple,” explains Chan.

7. “Do not drastically change your hair color,” warns Bakunawa. “Asian hair has a lot of copper undertones so if you’re going for a light brown shade, you’d have to bleach first.” Bakunawa recommends going to a reputable salon or a professional stylist. “It will be worth it, otherwise you might end up with orange hair.”

6. Don’t treat your suppliers like hired help. Your makeup artist, hair stylist, photographer and everybody else are there to make sure you look your best, and they deserve to be treated with respect. Treat them right and you’ll be rewarded with a well-made-up face, great hair and amazing pictures (even, possibly, lasting friendships).

5. Avoid unrealistic expectations, at least from the hair and makeup team. “Do not expect us to be magicians or surgeons,” says Bakunawa. “Granted, we will do everything we can in our power to make you the most beautiful you, but you’ll still look like yourself.” So brides, take note: no asking for ‘nose lines’ please!

4. “Do not neglect skin care and ‘leave it up to the makeup artist,’” shares Bakunawa. Chan agrees, having advised many women in the past to take care of their complexions. “Clear, blemish-free skin is the perfect canvas for makeup to go on,” she says. Besides, if your skin is in great shape, you won’t need that much makeup.

3. Try not to stress about the small things. “Brides should learn the art of letting go,” says Chan. “As long as you have your photographer, makeup, gown, and of course, groom, then everything else can fall apart and you will still be the most beautiful bride. Let go and everything will be alright.”

Says Bakunawa: “Stress will manifest in different ways, such as hair loss, dry skin, breakouts, rashes, you name it. And it shows in pictures.”

2. “Your wedding day is just one day, do not expend all your energy and be drained afterwards,” urges Chan. She also encourages couples to focus on the pending marriage itself, and not just get caught up in the preparations. “Planning a wedding is easy, getting married is not. So make sure that you are sure about it—no doubts, no hesitations, because we are talking about spending the rest of your life with this person.”

1. Don’t forget to feed your suppliers. “Do not assume that while we work in the fashion and beauty industry, we do not eat,” expresses Bakunawa. And Chan shares the same sentiment: “Even if it’s just a simple mamon [small butter cake], it really helps a lot!”

Prenup: Hitch

Finally! They are all out!!! Yey!

After the super-bitin Teaser we got from our Photog, Richard Buan, the long wait has ended. I learned about it this morning. However, I was busy the whole day so I pacified myself by taking a short glance on them. I must say, I am well satisfied.

I believe I don't need to expound nor elaborate more how our Prenup happened. The pictures will speak for itself. Bottomline we had a blast! I'm actually eyeing for the post-nup. Hahaha. But A has not yet say his "Yes" about it. Hmm....most likely we'll have one, coz I'm the boss. *wink*

Pa-Hitch!

Feeling sexy.... :P

Behind the scene.... @ NLEX
See A's belly? Sumisigaw!!! Ha ha ha

See that patrol car behind? Yes, there were 3 Patrol cars with Police Officers who tried to stopped us. They just shrug shoulders and smile at us after knowing we are getting married soon! Hihihi. Mga Eskandalosang pose kasi. tsk tsk tsk. ^__^

Teaser

Yes! So many things happened. Activities from left and right plus work.
These kept me from updating this wedblog. Nonetheless, I am really itchy to post this so "keber" if I am here in the office. Hehehe.

Our photog, Richard Buan literally kept his promise that he will give us "A Teaser" of the pictures taken last June 20 from our prenup photoshoot session. It's like ages waiting for this considering it has been only 10 days since that date. Oh, how I really wanted, actually WE really wanted to see the rest of the pictures. It's the waiting period that keeps us so excited. Kaloka. Ganito pala ang feeling. Hihihi.

So here's that TEASER shot. Sorry guys, you also have to wait for the rest. :P

BTW, we also have our prenup video taken that day. Just the same, Jezreel Cruz is still editting it. Can you guys make it a bit faster? Bring those teasers on the table!!!!! Uurrrggghhhh! ^__^

*waiting still*

Prenup at Subic & Clark

Yey! We're done with our prenup photo and video shoot. We had it yesterday, June 20 at Subic and Clark.

Before that day, we were praying and really hoping for a good weather since there were 2 tropical storm that were spotted last Monday. And as expected, we experienced rains and cloudy days from the early part of the week. But God is really good for He heared and answered our prayers. A and I were so thankful because

1. We had a good weather. Not 100% sunny but still, it was good. There were several rain showers but it didn't affect us at all.
2. We had fun.
3. We had a safe and relaxing trip.

Wedding preps are getting much more exciting!!! However really COSTLY!!! Hahahaha!
I'm excited to see the "patikim" peechurs and "teaser" video from richard buan and Jezreel Cruz.

Will surely share them once I have the copy with me.

The place where we will say "I DO"

The CHURCH: OUR LADY OF VICTORY CHAPEL
ADDRESS: Araneta Cmpd, Victoneta Ave., Potrero, Malabon

This is my High School's Chapel. This chapel is very serene and a very very perfect place to say solemn vows. A private chapel owned by the Araneta Clan. Many wedding scenes from local teleseryes from ABS-CBN and GMA-7 had taken place on this church. Some are Kristine-Jericho's "Pangako Sa'yo", Angel-Piolo's "Lobo" and GMA's "All about Eve".

Jan, 2009: When I brought A to the place. He was 100% sold. ^_^
He took pictures of it to show to his Mom. Since the chapel doesn't have its own parish office, we have to booked it to St. Peter & John Parish who is the church assigned to manage OLVC's bookings. I also have to asked my Mom's help to pay the Araneta Village Office that is only open from M-F. So there were two (2) bookings for this chapel. One from St. Peter & John and the other was from Araneta Village's Office. Nonetheless, the combined price is still ok for us. Much affordable compared to Manila Cathedral and San Agustin :P

Both our Mom's loved the place. They both suggested to book the place and no need to look for other venue. Hahaha. They don't know that it's done even w/o their approvals.

Here's some pics of OLVC:

Isn't the place so lovely? We love it.
